Our Support Status We are still in need of additional monthly support. We are around 80% of our goal. Please pray God will supply all our needs and bring financial monthly partners to join with us in this ministry. For information on how to partner with us, go to our Partners page. | We've had so many people asking us how our trip was and we are excited and honored to share! Over the next few weeks and months we will be sharing stories, pictures and projects we are working on here and on the Hungry4HIM blog (https://hungry4him.com/blog-2/). So, how was our trip, you ask? It was wonderful. It was surrounded by peace and good conversations. It was filled with laughter and friendships. We took pictures, captured video, wrote down many stories, saw God's hand in amazing projects, listened to students sing about Jesus and heard how much their teachers love them. We were overwhelmed at what the Lord is doing in the lives of the fatherless through the pastor we partner with and Hungry4HIM Ministry. In this post I am going to simply list details of what we accomplished, followed by what we will be doing now that we are home (since that's the next question we've been asked). In the coming weeks I will post stories from the children and teachers and pictures...lots of pictures!! Thank you for your prayers. We felt them the entire time. Of the three of us who traveled to Kenya none of us were sick, we all recovered from jet lag fairly quickly and had strength to work the entire time. We saw God's protection and provision while we were there. And, praise the Lord, ALL of our luggage made it to Kenya with us and back to the U.S.!! |
What we did in kenya
- Took pictures of all buildings and diagrammed the two campuses for our partner ministries who assist in building. Assessed the need for more classrooms and discussed the priority for each building that is still needing to be built.
- Assessed the need for water filtration and measured spaces for systems to be installed.
- Took professional portraits of all the students for sponsorship.
- Updated student files to determine who graduated or moved away, who is still attending, and what class each student is currently in.
- Took professional portraits of all teachers.
- Took video interviews of some students and teachers to learn their stories.
- Visited the land they use for farming and looked at plans for future agriculture projects.
- Asked millions of questions to gain clarity and updates on everything possible, from future gifts we can give and current needs they have, to possible projects for the future.
What we are doing now that we are home
- Connecting with our partner ministries to give them updated data on what buildings are still needed.
- Connecting with donors and interested partner ministries to discuss planting crops, Moringa trees, installing water filtration systems on both campuses, and completing the medical clinic.
- Creating videos and materials for marketing and sharing with partners.
- Organizing and updating our sponsorship database.
- Connecting with current sponsors and giving them updated information on their students.
- Pursuing future sponsors through setting up booths at events and conferences.
- Building church partnerships and advocates.
- Setting up a fundraising toolkit for partner churches and advocates of Hungry4HIM Ministry.
